CREATION OF AN INSTITUTE OF CRAFTS

This project consists of creating an institute of crafts in Senegal, headed by Aissa Dione, an internationally renowned Franco-Senegalese artist, designer and manufacturer. This institute aims to develop a “Made in Senegal” production based on the valorisation of the know-how and raw materials present in the region, and brought to a level of quality that allows it to meet the needs of the national market (public order, private customers) as well as to attract an international clientele in search of authenticity.

This 2-year qualifying training course, which consists of initial training at the beginning and ongoing training thereafter, should make it possible to provide direct and indirect employment to a young, creative and directly operational population, both in Senegal and, gradually, throughout the West African sub-region.

This private establishment will benefit from land and/or space made available by the Senegalese public authorities but based on private funding for equipment and operations, thanks to prestigious partnerships: major luxury houses, foundations, schools and workshops of excellence in the selected sectors,….
