CREATION OF ESMA
The new breath that propelled African fashion on the international scene came from Niger, thanks to the vision of Seidnaly Sidhamed dit Alphadi, creator of the International Festival of African Fashion – FIMA.
Within the framework of the African Capitals of Culture, FIMA proposes a set of 4 projects for the revitalization of fashion in Africa. They will be implemented over 5 years, between 2018 and 2022, and cover different areas:
Training/employment with the creation of the Ecole Supérieure de la Mode et des Arts
Textile production through an “Alphadi” label
Tannery and production of leather goods and jewellery with the “Alphadi” label.
To this end, the creation of the Ecole Supérieure de la Mode et des Arts, with an international vocation, and the other industries that accompany it, rightly support FIMA’s economic vision. It is not only an enhancement of our cultural heritage, but it also makes Niger the hub of African haute couture.
