URBAN SPACES FOR CULTURE
Rwanda Arts Initiative (RAI) is a non-profit organization established in 2012 that aims to develop and professionalize the cultural and artistic industry in Rwanda through the establishment of an incubator in Kimihurura. The main activities of the structure are: management, advice and expertise of cultural projects, training, production and dissemination, advocacy with public authorities and private structures.
As part of its mission to develop artistic creation in Kigali, the Rwanda Arts Initiative (RAI), in March 2019 and in partnership with the Centre des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles (BOZAR), proposed a forum on the role of culture in urban development: Urban Spaces for Culture in Kigali. The African Capitals of Culture invite RAI to Marrakech 2020 to continue this work and organize a second edition of the symposium.
